Aluminum is used in the sub-frame of these types of doors. Aluminum is a highly recyclable material and CDS happens to use more in their frame system, thus reducing area for shot in polyurethanes.
The core slab on a non-rated CDS door is either polyurethane or polystyrene. It is not new topic that Emission Reduction is in the minds of such manufactures of these polys. Please note this article.
